Reaction Niantic on numerous violations.
Reaction Niantic on numerous violations.
Hello Agents, C7H Group here and today we are stay at home. For the sake of your entertainment, we've decided to share with you our perspective on our "beloved" game
Niantic is in deep sleep right now.
We would like to draw some conclusions and generally discuss the popularity of Ingress Prime at this point in time.
For more than 6 months now, Scanner Redacted, the first Ingress client that everyone loved, has been closed. Many players still continue to play Ingress, participate in events, etc. They are just enjoying the gameplay. But unfortunately, some players just refuse to play the game now, and, as it turns out, not all the cases are related to introducing a brand new game client. Of course, Ingress Prime is a complete piece of crap, in comparison to its predecessor, mainly due to its updated graphics and other useless innovations. But nevertheless, through a considerable time period, Niantic was able to bring its client to a somewhat playable state. No matter how bad the initial versions of the prime client were, if you really like this game, nothing will stop you from enjoying it.
But today we will talk about something else. According to the player’s activity metric, online user's count for half a year decreased by 42%, it's 74.013 active users per day during the Scanner Redacted era and 42.613 active users per day for March 2020 (we do not take into account the COVID pandemic). No matter how hard Niantic tries to please its users by creating and conducting new crappy events or anomalies, the popularity bump is very unlikely to exceed +15%
So what is the main reason not to play Ingress Prime? No matter how painful the topic it's been for a long time, affecting many games, the reason is simple - cheaters. No matter how hard Niantic tries to convince us that they are fighting against spoofers, constantly monitoring and blocking bots, while praising themselves on Twitter, these actions have not introduced any changes except banning honest players.
What's even more laughable, over the past 10 months, Niantic has not blocked any of our bots, except for direct reports by the nickname from the true players. Over the past 5 months, we have registered more than 2100 accounts, all of them are still working, except for the ones that violated the rules too many times too obviously. At some point in time, we even stopped emulating the characteristics of the device and registered twinks at one location, hoping to get any reaction from Niantic.
What is the difficulty of tracking many identical accounts? We think this is not a complicated process for such a large organization. After all, with what enthusiasm they blocked accounts and shouted about their achievements in 2017. And now they simply cannot ban auto-registered accounts?
Let’s show more clearly on the example of one of our twink-hunter: 5ghghfhfgh, which was registered alongside a bunch of ~ 240 other accounts on April 2, 2020.
A small portion of the movements from the scraper database, 5ghghfhfgh:
6 hours ago from San Antonio, TX 78216, USA to Noorderhoofd, 3151 Hoek van Holland, Netherlands distance 8248.74km, speed 193.33km/h
2 days ago from Avenida Domingo Díaz, Panamá, Panama to East Terminal Drive, San Antonio International Airport (SAT), San Antonio, TX 78216, USA distance 3015.65km, speed 45.67km/h
4 days ago from 150 High St, Newton, NJ 07860, USA to Avenida Domingo Díaz, Panama, Panama distance 3586.9km, speed 344.53km/h
5 days ago from Carr. Nestor Gambetta 6311, Callao 07046, Peru to 103 Arch St, Butler, NJ 07405, USA distance 5895.82km, speed 586.77km/h
5 days ago from Park Road, Paterson, NJ 07503, USA to Calle Macedonia, Cercado de Lima, Peru distance 5883.27km, speed 188.64km/h
7 days ago from Rua Doutor Alfredo de Carvalho Pinto, 2-50, São Paulo, 13960-000, Brazil to 201-401 Ocean Ave N, Long Branch, NJ 07740, USA distance 7545.55km, speed 456.47km/h
And now on the screenshot:
Beautiful, isn't it?
For 15 days, this account has "visited" more than 43 portals, which were very important to its faction. And yet, with numerous complaints on this twink from other players, it has not been blocked until today, haha.
And how many of the similar accounts are there actually ...? It's up to you to make your own conclusions :)
We just want to show you that even though Niantic pretends to be constantly enhancing its game, the actual facts tell us that Niantic has stopped dealing with ones violating ToS a long time ago. Perhaps they are just not interested.
Have a nice day and #stayhome !
